Obergefreiter Müller

Full Name:Jürgen Müller
Born: 17/04/16 - Leipzig
Civilian occupation: Career Soldier

Jürgen was born in Leipzig in 1916, to his mother Etter and father Alfred who worked as an armaments engineer.

As a consequence of the Versailles treaty, Germanys standing army was reduced and production of armaments ceased. Like many families during this time his parents found themselves out of work and suffered hard times during the depression of the 1920's.

As he grew up he found himself impressed by the speeches of a man who was offering the German people a way out of the depression, and as a result joined the Hitler-Jugend at the age of 12. Although he did'nt know it at the time, he, like many others were being moulded into the future soldiers of the Wehrmacht.

At the age of 18 he joined up with Grossdeutschland division, and at the outbreak of war saw action in Sedan and during the rest of the French campaign.

On the 25th of June 1941 he and most of Grossduetschland crossed the Russian frontier, and as a result of high casualties he was transfered to the new reconnaissance unit in 1942.
